Looking at Building for VR | Documentation - I installed the Convai plugin from the Asset Store but don’t see the "Convai Custom Package Installer " or “ConvaiVRUpgrader.unitypackage”. Any thoughts where we find this ?

I am using Unity 2022.3.16f1, I updated the Convai asset in Package Mgr, imported into a new project and I can see it now thanks ! I was probably on an older version of the asset.

It’s a new feature and I’d like to get your thoughts on it.

How was the installation, was it easy etc?
Did you encounter any problems, etc.

Reply by eggman28 | 2024-01-22 20:45:19

It was easy once it was clear that it was only available from a specific version of the asset. Might be good to update the documentation to call that out.
I added my API Key, set the Character ID to my character, built the “Convai Demo-VR” scene on my Quest 3 and I can see the scene, and see the mic icon light up when pressing on the controller buttons but I don’t get a response. Tried walking closer too.

Any tips on what else I should check ? “Convai Demo” scene runs fine on Windows.

How did you install it?
By automatically setup?

Reply by eggman28 | 2024-01-22 20:47:03

Yes I chose the auto setup route, didn’t have any issues with installation or build.

Do you see Transcript UI?

Reply by k3kalinix | 2024-01-22 20:47:47

Did you try PC-VR?

Reply by eggman28 | 2024-01-22 20:48:35

Yes I see the UI, I can see the options to use different audio options and the test audio recording works and I can hear myself.

Reply by eggman28 | 2024-01-22 20:49:09

I haven’t tried PC-VR but will try that. So it’s the same VR scene but running on Windows instead of Android ?

Reply by k3kalinix | 2024-01-22 20:49:33

Then do this.

Connect to your computer with Oculus Link and try it without building as PC-VR.
Let’s check the console this way.

No need to change Build Platform.
We need to check if there is an error in the console.
