How to Trigger State of Mind

Original Discord Post by jeanstephane1 | 2024-09-16 23:41:51

Is it possible to trigger a particular state of mind I would like my convai character to feel in different moments? Is that possible in any regard?

As we said in the documentation,

This section displays a State of Mind graph, which relates to the emotional state of your character. The graph depicts a wheel of emotions and dynamically highlights the particular emotions that your character is experiencing during the conversation.

Sorry i explained myself poorly, what i meant is the following: is it possible to force trigger a particular emotional state when a character is in conversation? I understand the wheel of emotions dynamically highlights the particular emotions but i want to know if there is a way for me to have control over the wheel, either through the convai platform or code?

Hello <@912720812883206164>,

Yes, that’s exactly how I understood it. Like I said, it’s not possible right now.

<@912720812883206164> Hi, sorry to barge in. I know it’s not the same but something I found helpful was to write in between asterisks the way the characters are feeling. Say, if I want my character to experience anger, I would write in the instruction something like:

Tell me the time. Answer in a rude and angry way.

Hope this helps.

Sorry, asterisks (*) are meant to be before and after the phrase. They just don’t appear on Discord.
