Lip Sync Issues: Imported Mixamo Avatar

Hi!

I imported a custom-made avatar from Mixamo. I followed tutorials online for proper integration of the .fbx file of the avatar with Unity, as well as the “Importing custom characters” section on the Convai documentation. However, my avatar is still experiencing lip sync issues. I tried using the Convai tutorial on “Creating lifelike NPCs with Reallusion CC4 Characters” yet I still experience the issue.

I am not receiving any errors on my Unity console, my avatar’s lip-sync just does not work. Any help would be appreciated and please let me know if any screenshots will be helpful. Thanks.

Hello @ezewudokositoni,

Which blendshapes does your character have?

Thanks for the quick response.

By blendshapes - you’re referring to the Convai lip sync preset I used right? I tried all blendshapes i.e ARKit, OVR and Reallusion.

No, what blendshapes does your character have? For example, if your character has OVR blendshape, you should choose ConvaiLipsync accordingly.

Oh okay. Please how can this be determined i.e the blendshape type?

This is entirely up to you. In short, the character needs to have the appropriate mouth movements. This is independent of Convai and falls more within the domain of character artists. I recommend doing some research online or asking ChatGPT for guidance.

Okay sounds great. Thanks for this guide.
