Long term memory and runtime customization of character

Original Discord Post by tyke_18 | 2024-08-27 07:48:40

Hi, can you tell me please if Convai offer a memory implementation for characters that persists between sessions, like the Long Term Memory in Inworld? Also, does Convai offer dynamic/runtime customization of the characters values like their name or voice, similar to the mutations via Goals system of Inworld? I’m asking because I have a live app that has these features but I have to stop using Inworld soon due to not getting a license, so I’m weighing up the alternatives.

I’ve been reading the docs, long term memory is only available in the playground, are there any plans to bring it to game engines, Unity specifically? About runtime customization of character values such as their name etc, I don’t think you offer this at present, any plans for it? I see many languages are well supported, massive kudos to you for that.

Changes can be made in the runtime. Let me inform my teammate to help you with this.

Fantastic, so just to check - this will be available in Unity? If so I’m pretty sure Convai will be my path from now. If character changes can be made in the runtime that would be amazing. In my app I have a Unity scene where users can make customizations to the characters, these are then applied in the next scene to load which loads the chosen character.
