Looking to integrate Convai into our website as a navigator

Hi there,
I’ve been tasked by my company to search for new and interesting directions for web layouts and functionality. It was paramount that some sort of A.I. integration was to be included. And so I stumbled across Convai, and wow was I impressed at the possibilities presented.

My reason for posting is to get a clearer image as to how Convai could be integrated into websites via Unreal Engine/Unity. I’m aware that Convai allows NPCs to perceive their surroundings and converse according to the story it’s fed, but we’re not interested in creating a playable game on our site in the traditional sense. Rather, the idea is to have the “NPC” help the user navigate the website by moving to different sections of the page according to whatever the user asks; for example, if the user asks to see our portfolio (through text or voice), the NPC character would understand what is being asked and navigates to the portfolio section of the site.

I haven’t seen any case studies that indicate this is possible, but I feel like it is technically achievable. If there are any hurdles or obstacles that would prevent this kind of navigation, I would love to hear it. Alternatively, if there is indeed a site or case study that does utilise a basic NPC interaction on a non-game website, I would love to see it.

Thanks!

Hey <@250017866873569282> we are working on a website navigator for websites. We are working on the prototype for it. Will keep updating on the web channel and our youtube channel. It’ll be easy to integrating chat box kind of application for website. Sorry for the late response.

Hi <@368669084952428554> , thank you for responding.

Is the prototype you guys are working on focused more on 2D space or 3D? We’re hoping to develop a 3D space that would need to be navigated by the NPC to show specific things to our users.

Hi <@368669084952428554> , sorry for only responding now.

There’s a site made in Unreal Engine that we saw (We Live in the Cloud | Microsoft Story Labs), and we found the 3D space very interesting. We had the thought that instead of clicking where you would want to go, you would talk to an NPC and they would provide options or suggest places to go. When confirmed they would then navigate to that section. Would love to hear your thoughts on this

Yes that is possible with actions in websdk. Custom action docs are under review right now…I’ll update you here once they are released for web
