Start Here: How to Use the Convai Developer Forum

Welcome to the Convai Developer Forum.

This forum is the best place to ask questions, report issues, share feedback, request features, showcase projects, and learn from other developers building with Convai.

To help the community and the Convai team respond faster, please choose the most relevant category when creating a topic.

Where should I post?

Product or technical support

If you need help with a specific Convai product, SDK, plugin, API, or integration, please post in the most relevant support category.

Use these areas for questions, bug reports, setup issues, integration problems, unexpected behavior, or troubleshooting.

Examples:

  • Character behavior or conversation quality

  • Voice, speech, language, or microphone issues

  • Knowledge Bank or RAG behavior

  • API, authentication, or backend issues

  • Playground or dashboard issues

  • Avatar Studio questions

  • Convai Sim questions

  • Unity SDK issues

  • Unreal Engine Plugin issues

  • Web SDK or embed issues

  • Custom integration questions

Reporting bugs or technical issues

When reporting an issue, please include as much useful information as possible.

Helpful details include:

  • What you were trying to do

  • What you expected to happen

  • What actually happened

  • Steps to reproduce the issue

  • Product, SDK, plugin, engine, browser, or platform version

  • Operating system or device

  • Logs, screenshots, or screen recordings if useful

The more context you provide, the faster the Convai team and community can understand the issue.

Please do not post API keys, tokens, passwords, secrets, private project data, private character data, private conversation logs, or customer information.

Feature requests

Use the Feature Requests category to suggest improvements, new capabilities, or workflow changes.

A good feature request explains:

  • What you are trying to build

  • What is currently difficult or missing

  • Why the feature would help

  • Who would benefit from it

  • Any workaround you are currently using

Feature requests help the Convai team understand developer needs, but posting, liking, or discussing a request does not guarantee that it will be added to the roadmap.

Known Issues

Known Issues are confirmed or recurring problems that the Convai team is tracking publicly.

Only the Convai team can create new Known Issue topics, but users may reply to existing Known Issues with useful details such as versions, platforms, reproduction steps, or whether a workaround helped.

If you are experiencing a problem, please create a topic in the relevant support category first. If the issue is confirmed or affects multiple users, the Convai team may link it to a Known Issue.

Community posts

Use the Community categories for non-support discussions such as:

  • Sharing projects built with Convai

  • Finding collaborators

  • Posting guides or tutorials

  • Discussing use cases, architecture, and implementation patterns

If you are showing something you built, use Showcase.

If you are looking for collaborators or sharing a project idea, use Build Together.

If you are sharing educational content, use Guides & Tutorials.

If you want to discuss production patterns or implementation strategy, use Use Cases & Architecture.

Before posting

Before creating a new topic:

  2. Choose the most relevant category.

  3. Use the template fields when available.

  4. Include enough detail for others to understand the issue.

How the Convai team uses the forum

The Convai team reviews forum activity to answer questions, investigate issues, identify recurring problems, collect product feedback, and improve the developer experience.

Some topics may be answered directly in the forum. Others may be linked to Known Issues, escalated internally, or used as product and documentation feedback.
