XR Rig not recognized as a player (VR)

i have try to implement it on VR, did some changes on convaiNPCManager component with support from <@1023671043287699568> , to make sure the ray casts from the maincamera instead of the cursor. i have make sure the rig is tagged as player, i have added the prefab to Interactable data component. but the player is like not recognized, i get some null reference error,
one on ChatUI Handler line 192 which is about access an instance of active NPC,
and another on ConvaiNPC component line 171.

what might be an issue here🤔

apart from player tag, adding it to characters, how else will it identified as the player

if you are talking about yesterday, this was with the normal player, where i just made sure the UI is working well in world space mode, before i change the player to XR rig

when the XR rig is near the avatar, the gizmos are not drawn, which tells me that
