Any tips for getting a Convai avatar to lie down

I would like to have an AI avatar as a patient lying in bed. I have changed the animation successfully so they are lying down. The issue is they seems to constantly spin around in bed (especially when being spoken too). I tried placing the character inside the bed object but the avatar stopped responding when I did this. My current solution is a hidden object above the bed and use that as patient tracking. They keep still in bed but obviously don’t look at the user when talking. Any better solutions please?

Hello @cgienke,

Welcome to the Convai Developer Forum!

To better understand the issue, could you share a video demonstrating the problem?

Looking forward to your response!

Hi, I have uploaded a video here https://youtu.be/5wgYFjoQN_8 hopefully you can see that the character ‘swings’ around depending on where the player is located

Thank you for sharing the video.

If your Character Head & Eye Tracking Component is attached to the ConvaiNPC, try removing it and testing again.

Let me know if this helps or if you need further assistance!

Thanks this works, but of course means the character will not look at the player then having a conversation…

In this case, you will need to create your own Head Tracking script. The provided Head and Body Tracking scripts are designed for demo purposes and are not tailored to fit specific project requirements.

Just thought I’d mention a Unity asset that offers very good head and eye tracking ability which is highly configurable, it’s called Salsa Lip Sync, it goes on offer from time to time but is worth full price anyway imo, it offers lip sync too, it can do this with 1 click if the character is compatible.
