Inconsistent custom pronunciation

I am having a hard time trying to get my avatar to pronounce some words correctly. I am using the “Add custom pronunciation” tab of the “Language and speech” menu in the Convai dashboard.

The avatar sometimes gets it, and pronounces the custom words properly, and sometimes it completely ignores my custom pronunciation. Try my English-speaking Monsieur Hassan character: Convai Character.

He understand to pronounce the second custom word correctly (“Abdellah bencherif”), but ignores the other 2 custom pronunciations for “Dh” and “Abi Dar El Ghafari”. What am I doing wrong?

Could you try using one of the Google Chirp voices instead?

These are the voices that have a description in parentheses.
