Hey guys. I love how easy it is to setup & use ConvAI, but I have 3 issues that prevent me from actually deploying websites on it now that the core API is being phased out.
I created these 2 new test pages to explain the bugs & the expected behaviors and show how they are not present in the core-api:
web-sdk-cdn version: ConvAI Test (updated w/ correct link)
core-api version: Convai Core API Test
Tested on Edge/Chrome on Windows PC, and Safari/Chrome on Iphone/Android.
Issue 1: Page requests microphone access even if it is not intended to be used at all.
Issue 2: Page never releases the microphone after it is acquired.
Issue 3: Page requests microphone access out-of-context in the cases when it is intended to be used.
I was told to migrate to the web-sdk because of an issue I had w/ the core-api version cutting off longer responses.
These issues have been preventing me from using ConvAI on new public-facing sites or breaking on sites I previously had the core API implemented on such as:
& others I am unable to list here.
If you guys need any additional information, just let me know. As soon as these bugs are resolved, I’ll be able to start pitching ConvAI chat bots to clients again.
