I want to create an interactive AI Avatar Agent. I created one on D_ID.com but am having too many problems and support hasn’t responded in 3 weeks.
I created a legacy Avatar AI agent. I created it for my family after I pass (cancer … not sure how much time I have). I use all text documents of transcribed interviews, letters and other text documents. I was able to instruct the AI when to answer as me and when to answer as a generic AI. I recorded a video of myself using their site and they had me read a script. I then had to consent to my image being used and it created an avatar based on my video and voice. I had a lot of issues with truncation of voice and timeouts. I had to put in extensive instructions on how my agent should respond. I also got to choose if it should only answer based on my documents and which LLM to use.
Can I do the same thing on this platform? I would really like to finish this. And is there a plan for just maintaining the AI agent without updates so I can keep it up for years for my family and friends?

At Convai, you can create a character through Avatar Studio using one of the available base avatars or by customizing it to reflect your own design. However, it isn’t currently possible to upload a personal video or voice recording to generate a fully custom avatar directly from your likeness.
What you can do is:
Create a character and personalize it using your own written materials, transcripts, or letters to define its backstory and personality.
If you have a Pro plan on ElevenLabs, you can connect it to Convai and add your own recorded voice as a custom voice for that character.
Once set up, your character can continue to respond and interact through text or voice, reflecting your personality and stories as you’ve defined them.
While this may not perfectly match what you were able to do on D_ID, it can still help preserve and share your voice, words, and memories in a lasting way.
Unfortunately, there isn’t a lifetime plan available. It’s not possible to guarantee permanent hosting or access, as pricing and certain features (like specific voices or integrations) may change over time.
