Narrative Designer for advanced use cases

Original Discord Post by flowmaker1337 | 2024-08-29 09:33:27

Hi, we have started working with narravite designer and found that there is a lack of documentation about more complex cases and we want to make it clear: we should define “trees” of sequence/triggers in narrative designer but what we should do when we want to “jump” from one tree to another - For example character is going trought tree called “tell me about your building” but then user asks for “what characters i can meet in this world?” - we now have it as a separeted tree of nodes for that but when we testing on chat this seems to work that avatar “stucks” in one tree and dont switch to another.

Maybe we should provide some logic on unreal site but we don’t understand relation beetween narrative designer in dashboard and execution in unreal engine.

Can someone make it more clear for us? maybe also for others.

You can refer to this documentation for a simple demo that demonstrates how to use narrative design in Unreal Engine.

This is a simple demo about how to use Narrative Design in Unreal Engine. Below, you can see a simple Narrative Design consisting of 2 triggers: “On Player approach it” and “Reached Monument,” and 3 sections: “Welcome,” “Escort Player to Monument,” and “Speak about the Monument.” For this…

ok but i want to understand how this work - is there a way to “jump” from one narration tree to another in one conversation?

there is no information about this, and also when i want get specific answer for specific question - should i use narrative designer or just knowledge base with some kind of “intents” to qualify question and assign specific answer?

so please connect me with someone who can just explain how to prepare this for advanced learning scenarios, not just “go here and jump” because there are basics…

we should know how to prepare knowledge and narrative design to can provide advanced learning scenarios, not only 1-2 questions scenarios

yesterday i got call with Jeff and we want to upgrade for Partnership license, but this thing is critical important for us

because if there is a RAG behind this, it should work but we need detailed information how to prepare it

tutorials and docs shows only “how to setup” a most basic scenarios
