Quest Animation Capture - how to export / use animations recorded?

How can i share file?

upload to google drive

Could you please try to record and upload a new test animation?

ok sure i tried but that also not working.

I’m going to start a new project with the latest Convai SDK and give it a try. Should have a result in the next day or so.

@Jothi_Rangaswamy,

Please capture the animation and save it. Then wait approximately 15 minutes and try downloading it from the animation list in the Unity Editor.

Ok, I updated the Convai asset from the Unity Store. Set up a new project and it works fine. Entered my API Key. Looked for Server Animations and both of mine were there. The old one imported but there is no workable animation. So I opened the Quest Animation app (PLEEZE DON’T MAKE US LOG IN EVERY TIME!) and created a new animation. Saved it. Went back to Unity and it was there on the server. Downloaded and got the package with the fbx with the character and the mixamo.com file (the animation? which was pretty much empty. It shows the right duration but there are no keyframes) and materials and fbm file. So - the animation file is useless in the current form.
I let the server cook for 10 minutes and tried again. Same result. Do you guys not get the same result? It’s like you never actually tried it?

Now ready to help test so just tell me and I’ll have a result in 10 minutes if I’m at the computer. Happy to assist in testing since it’s a great ability to have!

Hello, as I mentioned earlier, we are currently working on improvements and actively developing it. It’s still in beta, so we haven’t made a full public announcement yet. Thank you for helping identify the issue, we truly appreciate it. We’ll investigate further and keep you informed. Apologies again for the inconvenience.

Ok, wondered why I couldn’t find it in the store. No worries. Thanks for doing what you do.

Updated Quest app, recorded a new animation, can confirm I can now see them in Unity. Downloaded it but I see similar result as reported ie model in t-pose, animation doesn’t seem to play as recorded.

I don’t believe it’s working right now. There’s basically no keyframes in the anim file. Hopefully it will be fixed soon. Still a work in progress.

@EggMan28 @Jothi_Rangaswamy @Gargi_Jadaun,

could you please try again?

Now its working Thanks

Try checking your Unity project folder, usually under something like Assets/QuestAnimationCapture/Recordings. That’s where the animation .anim files are typically saved. You can drag those onto your character’s Animator or Timeline to use them. If nothing shows up, double-check in the Quest Capture UI to make sure the recording was saved properly before closing it.

Working fine
