Spatialized Sound in Unity

Original Discord Post by heywood_floyd | 2024-09-17 20:23:52

Can you use the spatialized sound option for the audio for AI characters? With it on, I hear no sound from the AI characters, although I can see a response int the transcript UI in the editor.

I don’t hear any sound when I build and install on a Quest 2. I do hear other sounds in the environment.

What exactly is the problem?

In the Audio Source component you can change the Audio Source Distance.

I can change the min and max distance for the 3D sound settings. I don’t see a setting for Audio Source Distance.

Yes, that’s what I meant. I can’t remember the exact name of the settings.

Use 2D Spatial Blend

3D Spatial Blend will behave realistically.

So, don’t use the “spatialize” option?

Yes.

Thanks.

You can use 3D, but you will need to adjust the min/max distance according to your needs.
