What did you build?
I built an experimental deployment layer for Convai-powered AI characters, focused on real-world screens and business use cases. https://youtube.com/shorts/pJ3LdyeEyjM
The idea is to let users connect their own Convai account and deploy a talking AI character on different environments such as websites, hotel lobbies, kiosk screens, touchscreen displays, exhibition booths, and holobox / digital human displays.
The current demo is based on an AI hotel experience, where the character can act like an AI concierge or assistant for guests. The broader goal is to make Convai characters easier to deploy outside a standard web demo and into real business environments.
How did you use Convai?
I used Convai as the core AI character and interaction layer.
The project is designed around connecting a Convai character to an external deployment interface, where the user can provide Convai-related details such as Experience ID, Character ID, and API information.
The Convai character can then be presented through a web page, embedded experience, kiosk layout, touchscreen display, or holobox-style screen. AssistFlow.ai provides the surrounding layer for deployment pages, screen layouts, session tracking, and an Omni Inbox-style interface to manage conversations.
The goal is to keep the Convai account under the user’s own control while adding a simple business-facing deployment and management layer around it.
Highlights
The most interesting part of this project is the real-world deployment angle.
Instead of using an AI character only inside a normal web demo, the same Convai-powered experience can be adapted for:
- hotel lobby screens
- kiosk displays
- touchscreens
- exhibition booths
- holobox / digital human displays
- business websites
I previously tested a Convai-powered AI character inside a holobox-style display at an exhibition booth, and this project is an attempt to turn that idea into a more reusable deployment workflow.
Another key point is that users can bring their own Convai account, while the AssistFlow layer focuses on screen layouts, embed links, session visibility, and business use cases.
What kind of feedback would you like?
I would love to get feedback on the overall UX, deployment workflow, character presentation, performance expectations for kiosk / holobox use cases, and whether this type of Convai deployment layer would be useful for other developers, agencies, hotels, exhibitions, or businesses.
I am also interested in feedback about the best way to structure the setup flow for Experience ID, Character ID, API details, screen selection, and embed links.
