Unfortunately, Elevenlabs’ new voice verification feature makes the program useless for our company, as we use Convai and Eleven labs frequently for historical figures / dead people who our clients have the rights to. Now that we can’t clone these voices with Elevenlabs, we need an alternative. What other voice cloning solutions can be paired with Convai?

Elevenlabs now has a verification process to clone a voice, and requires the person who’s voice is being cloned to be there with you and read a captcha into the microphone. This is a huge problem for us because most of the work we do with museums and education companies involves voice clones of dead people to use with Convai. Does Convai support any other voice cloning services? If not, you may have to very soon, because this may drive a lot of people away from Elevenlabs.

Unfortunately, Elevenlabs also makes the best clones out of any service I’ve used.

I’m also in the process of speaking with them on the issue, but I doubt they ever plan on removing this new restriction.

We currently do not support any other cloning service.
But we are working on our own voice cloning feature.

Ethics and legality aside- couldnt someone just clone the voice using open source software, then use that to read the captcha to enable elevenlabs cloning? Services like character.ai can clone a voice with 10 seconds of audio now
