Hello, I’d like to know if the problem with 5 to 10 sec delay for the avatar to answer has been solved or if it’s still the same in convai ?
I’ve read many conversations in this discord regarding it, but no solution.

I suspect your connection or something is blocking it. Where are you from?

Here’s what I have experienced about response delays:

  1. It is not consistent.
  2. It is longer for Japanese than for English characters.
  3. It is longer for the very first response while the session ID is being set.
  4. It is longer when the content of the response has more words (eg: a 100 word response will take longer to return than a 10 word response).
  5. It is longer if the LLM needs to take time to figure out how to respond (eg: the question is long or complicated).
  6. It is longer if the conversation has been going for awhile.

If you are only having simple english conversations the delay should be quick (maybe under 2-3 seconds).
