Hindi Eleven Labs voice unusable

Eleven Labs voices are good but unusable. Wonderful selection of excellent voices but I have yet to find one that didn’t play back with artifacts like clicks and pops. In this case, when asked to speak Hindi the response was choppy with huge pauses between words.

It’s very sad because they are premium voices with limited interactions.

Thanks for reporting this issue, and sorry to hear about the playback problems.

To help us investigate further, could you please test the voice output in two areas:

  1. Open your character in the Convai Playground and use the Chatbox (bottom right).
  2. Then click the Video Call button (top right) and try the same input there.

Let us know if the audio issues (clicks, pops, or choppy playback) happen in both cases. This will help us determine whether the problem is voice-specific or platform-related.

Artifacting is there with the Smriti and worse with Devi. Same in the playground and worse in the Quest 3 headset only because the speakers are closer to your ears.

Tried the same voices on Eleven Labs and they are perfect. Just so you know.

The audio glitching you’re hearing with ElevenLabs voices was addressed in our 3.3.0 update.

Please try testing again in a fresh project using the latest version. Let us know if the issue still persists after updating.

Thank you. And thanks for pairing specific voices with specific languages. I’ve started cloning characters with only one language and voice each and then just changing the character ID in the app according to user preferences and it works great.
