According to Narrative Design | Convai Documentation - Syntax Instructions, These special characters can be added to nodes in your Narrative Design graph to control specific outcomes and behavior. Special Characters e.g. * - Forces an immediate transition to the next node, bypassing further decision checks. This is not happening in my projects and I need this for a project I am busy with. This is crucial for my project and would like to know if this is a bug, or, what am I doing wrong (not sure there is too much that I could be doing wrong).
Thank you for your speedy response. Yes, that is exactly what I did. I obviously deleted from my character as I did not want to wast time on my project hoping that I would get support in the interem. My characters ID is f7d9029a-6ca1-11f0-b105-42010a7be01f . Be gentle with him …heee once again thank you
Other wierd things are happening. Everything worked 100% then today I cannot move from the first section (attached above (and just incase it is not the * I gave the learner to say yes to carry on and no to end)) this is very frustrating. I really could do with help
I am not sure how I am supposed to trouble shoot if I know * does not work. I used it with my other character as well i.e. same outcome. I have to change this back to the last working state i.e. I have to give the leaner the option to say yes or no. I do apologise but I have no other option
I have been working on my project for a week. I have recreated my character a number of times and run into the same problem over and over again. It just took me a long time to figure out that Convai is the problem.
Let me explain.
I am creating a learning scenario. I have a client Ray (f7d9029a-6ca1-11f0-b105-42010a7be01f) and I as a FA (Financial Advisor) must sell to Ray. In the background I have Jessica ( 53c3dcfa-6ca3-11f0-ae23-42010a7be01f ) and Jessica is the Coach. When I have finished selling to Ray, Jessica will give me feedback.
All of this is taking place in Unreal Engine. Originally I thought the issue was there. Many… many… hours, days later I have figured out that it is something on Conai side i.e. I tested Ray and it worked fine on Convai. Yesterday it was working fine in Unreal. Then today for no reason it stopped working in Unreal. So instead of looking at Unreal I decided to test on Convai AND the only thing that works on Convai is Ray’s trigger and then it hangs. I have done nothing to Ray… Nothing. Even if I did to something it should still work.
I am presenting tomorrow and I have nothing to show. I need this presentation to go well.
Can you please help me. I could not ask you for a bigger favour at the moment. I have obviously done something wrong… I really could use your help.
This doesn’t look like a response delay, you’re likely hitting an error. Please open the browser Console (F12) and share the logs. If you suspect Narrative Design, temporarily disable it and test again. Also please share your character ID.
Good day Oscar and K3. I am not quire sure how this forum works.. BUT… I wanted to share with you what happened today (because it is the only way that I can show you that your support makes a difference in peoples lives like me). I made the edits above and everything worked. It was just in time for me to present … AND… I think my presentation was a success and I may even get work from this. I think what I am saying is that it is due to support like yours that I may have landed work for myself and I wanted to personally thank you…. Thank you
