I was curious to test the sample project linked in the description.
I am using UE5.3 and latest convai version and the project has various compile errors.
What am I missing? Please help.

Welcome to the Convai Developer Forum!
The current V4 plugin does not support NPC2NPC.
Please download the latest SDK release from here:
https://github.com/Conv-AI/Convai-UnrealEngine-SDK/releases
Then create a Plugins folder in your project, and place the Convai folder from the downloaded zip file inside it.
After that, NPC2NPC should work correctly.
