Unable to Connect Documents in Knowledge Bank

Hello, I’m having problems with the knowledge bank. It can’t recognize the documents.

Hello @drevan,

Welcome to the Convai Developer Forum!

Could you please share your Character ID so we can take a closer look at the issue?

f7022208-efbe-11ef-8b69-42010a7be016 , now is kind of working the documents, but too slow to respond?

Are you still having issues?

@drevan, I had the problem that after editing the knowledge bank and reconnecting, it would be “learning” forever and never finish. But I found that just going back to the Playground, and then back to the character’s knowledge bank and clicking the connect button again, it then connected quickly. I hope that helps

sorry, but the avatar may be useless for our application. It’s not about the answers, which it doesn’t carry out to satisfaction , but it’s more about its ability to initiate commands to control our Unity based model navigation. It may carry out one command, but will never be consistent or even carry out the same action on the contralateral side when asked to do so. Perhaps we don’t know what we’re doing here, or this may just be outside of it’s capability, or worse still, it is just too flakey for our application

Thanks for sharing your concerns, and we’re sorry to hear about your difficulties integrating the avatar with your Unity-based model navigation.

To improve consistency and ensure your character interprets and triggers actions as expected, we recommend the following:

1. Add Clear Instructions to the Character Description:
Include specific behavioral guidelines that help the avatar understand when and how to act.

2. Add Descriptions to Your Custom Actions:
This helps the AI understand the purpose of each action more reliably.

How to Add Descriptions to Actions:
Use the format:
Action Name <Description>

Examples:

  • sit down <Use this action to make the character sit, suitable for resting, healing, or engaging in conversations with NPCs.>
  • crouch <This action lowers the character's profile, used for stealth or navigating low spaces.>
  • turn left <Makes the avatar rotate to its left by 90 degrees.>
  • turn right <Makes the avatar rotate to its right by 90 degrees.>
