Unreal Convai 4.0.0-Beta 8 Unable to setup

Hi Kaan and Team,

I’m trying to update the previous project running on 3.6.9-HotFix 2, duplicated the project, downloaded **Convai Unreal Engine SDK Version 4.0.0-beta.8, and trying to set up.

There is an error for the Face Blueprint straight away. Followed the tutorial video, and for some reason I can’t set anything up.

As updating from the previous version the project, the first person player is set to Parent Class: Convai Base Player**

On pressing play, I see the widget how ever despite putting the character ID, the digital human doesn’t speak.

What am I missing? The tutorial video is a great use case example, however the basic setup steps are somewhat skipped as in the parent class. Can you help so I can start testing the new plugin as well as the vision system please.

Update: I’ve downloaded the demo project as well to figure out what is different than the way ours is setup.

There is no parent class setup. Please watch the video carefully.

Trying to play test, I am seeing this error message:

I used the Convai Unreal Engine Metahuman Bug Fix - Google Drive to override the content folder in Convai Plugin to fix the Metahuman Animation retargeting.

Please test it in a new project. Do not try to upgrade an old project.

For animation issues, right click on the Animations folder and click the “Resave All” option.

That worked for the animations! :+1:t3: However, the digital human doesn’t respond, despite the correct character ID associated. Is the Lip Sync functionality working now? Seeing this message on the screen.

Please add the FaceSync component.
