Feature request : Expanded Long Term Memory

What kind of request is this?

Feature request

Affected area

Character Intelligence

Impact

Normal - this would improve an important workflow

Short summary

The long term memory is a welcome thing, but users of my app have noticed it’s not as good as other AI apps, so could it be improved? It’s great it exists, because some AI doesn’t have it, but I’d like to see Convai with 1 of the better memory systems if possible.

What problem are you trying to solve?

My app TykeAI is an AI companion app in VR/MR and uses Convai. Users form bonds with the AI characters and they’re noticing that although there is memory, it could be improved, with regards to how much they remember and for how long. I think this is 1 of the weaker parts of my app right now, so if it could be considered as an area for an improvement I would be very grateful and it would result in more users if implemented.

Proposed solution

That Convai agrees with their Long Term Memory provider a bigger context window for more extensive memory, or maybe Convai can do it, I am not sure how it works.

Use case

It would be used for the AI companions in my app.

Current workaround

I have added a very rudimentary memory system in addition to the Convai LTM system but it’s not as good, I’ve looked into it but vector databases etc are beyond me.

Who would benefit?

Enterprise / production teams, indie devs.

Examples or references

Other apps with AI like Replika are known for having extensive memory systems, they have 40 million users and memory is very important for them going by feedback. Lets grab a million if their userbase  I think having a better memory would increase the user numbers and customer satisfaction. Convai is amazing and I respect any decision made. Thank you for your consideration.
