Hyper-real 3D avatar visuals - has anyone rigged a 3D scanned actor mesh for use with Convai?

I want to create a realistic 3D character avatar using a 3D scan or volumetric capture of an real-world actor/performer, rigged for lip-sync and facial expressions.

  1. Does Convai already have an example of a 3D scanned actor rig using Convai’s AI technology?
  2. What resource or approach can this forum’s participants recommend to achieve this hyper-real visual result for an AI character avatar?
  3. What is the most realistic Convai AI avatar example online that you can point me to, via links to tech’ websites, articles, and video, etc?

Hello @duane,

Welcome to the Convai Developer Forum!

Convai is not dependent on any specific character visual. You can use any custom 3D‑scanned or volumetric‑captured actor, as long as it’s properly rigged with facial blendshapes for lip‑sync and expressions (e.g., ARKit or OVR).

For high‑quality examples, please check the characters in Avatar Studio.
