Metahuman animation BP broken in UE5.6 plugin

Hi, i downloaded the UE5.6 convai plugin and added the convai body animation BP to the new metahuman rigs and it causes the body to do this, is anyone else encountering this issue


*Also the lipsync is not working either

I noticed the same bug.
Actually you just have to open another level and then go back to the previous one.

Hi, I’m also having this issue. Is there another solution availabile? I’ve created a new level which I opened and then reopened the previous level with the Meta Human. I’ve also restarted UE5.6.

I downloaded V5.6 from the link below. Is this the correct folder location for it to be moved to.

Hi, I also have this problem. And I have tried to switch another level, but it doesn’t work :frowning:
I’m a college student, and I have to submmit this final work soon, please help me :cry:

Just a thought, did you try re-creating in 5.5 and migrating your world across, and using the online metahuman creator? It might work. Havnt tried it yet but i assume the issue is with 5.6.

Might be a possible work around for your college final.

Yeah, I also think this issue is related to version 5.6.
Over the past few hours, I’ve tried many ways to fix it. Interestingly, after clicking the reload button (or performing some other action), the character suddenly reloaded and everything worked fine in version 5.6.
Hopefully, the official team will fix it soon! :grinning_face:

I have the same problem. Changing the level doesn’t fix it. Waiting on the upgrade for this to be usable as a product.

Mine did the same, oddly. Saving with the body animation set. Closing and re opening the project fixed it for me.

Unfo, mine remains unusable after reopening it. I am using the new 5.6 Metahumans, if that makes a difference.

Could you try this quick fix?

Hi, we are also encountering the exact same issue with the body animation being incorrect on the new metahuman rig and the above fixes seem to not have resolved the issue, This one did resolve the face sync though. We are on the latest plugin version released 3 days ago.

Thanks for sharing the details. Please try the following steps to resolve the body animation issue:

  1. Download this file → File

  2. Inside the file, locate the Metahumans folder.

  3. Drag and drop this folder into: Plugins/Convai/Content

  4. If prompted with a message asking whether to replace existing files, select Yes.

  5. Reopen your project and test if the issue is resolved.

This fix will be officially updated on FAB and GitHub soon, but applying this patch manually should help in the meantime.

Please let us know if the issue persists after trying this.

Hi, so i have updated to ue 5.6.1 and the Metahuman hips now seem to be growing and shrinking when going from idle to talk states

It seems the idle has be retargetted correctly but the talk one has not been, Does anyone have some insight into this?

when drag and dropping the file, having this failed to import issue

Did you extract the file from the zip?

yes. extracted then try to drag and drop the metahumans file, but having failed to import error

Do this from Windows Explorer, not from within Unreal Engine.
