After setting up an experience for Pixel Streaming, I then saved and published it, intending that it can be used as a demo for a client. However, when I navigate to the link, I get the following error:
Application error: a client-side exception has occurred (see the browser console for more information).
This happens on Chrome, Edge and Firefox, and seems to happen when I am not logged in. When I am logged in, the link takes me to the setup/edit experience.
How do I publish it so that an external client can follow the link and try the experience?
It happens when a user doesn’t log in to x.convai.com before accessing the pixel stream. We are working to fix this redirection logic.
Currently, We don’t allow users to access pixel streams without logging into x.convai.com. Any invited users should have a pixel stream quota and login to x.convai.com before clicking on the invite link. This is to avoid other users using up the creator’s pixel stream quota.
So, I can’t actually use it as a demo then? My client has an expo next week and we were planning to use it for a few hours there to market and showcase it.
It’s also a shame that when the pixel streaming was demo’d to me and sold, it wasn’t made clear that, in order to access an experience, my client would also have to have a Pro account. That makes no sense at all.
<@1023671043287699568> Actually, thinking back, it was demo’d to me on the basis that it would be perfect for trade shows etc, as the 40 hours wouldn’t cover it being available all the time…
I’m not annoyed at this, but I just find it a bit odd that the feature meant to demo the technology can’t be accessed by anyone until they’ve already bought into the technoloyg…
I tried publishing it as both a public and unlisted one. To be honest, it’s intended for a trade show in about ten days time, so I’m happy for it to be a public one if necessary in ortder that the show stand can go ahead.
Hi <@178079698574639104> thanks for pointing out the issue.
We are working on a fix where if you share a private experience, it will use the creator’s quota.
This should allow you to invite other people to view your experience once they login with their invited email ids (and they won’t need their own pixel streaming quota since they’ll be using your quota).
We will let you know once the fix is deployed. It should be available by this week.
<@759094701038370877> That is good news Thank you. That does make a lot more sense to be able to demo the technology. I have a meeting on Friday afternoon (14:45 UK time) about this, so fingers crossed that it will be able to be shown then
