Unstable connection to PixelStream

Hello Convai Team,
We are currently experiencing a lot of connection breaks. Most of the time with the message in the video, but we made sure that we did not initiate another session from anywhere and it seems to be a random times sometimes after a minute and sometimes after 5 or even more.

As we are currently live on a fair this should be resolved as quickly as possible, as we are also using a lot of our core api quota as every connection break triggers a history sync with needs 6 calls to the core api. We are on the largescale Business Plan.

Kind regards,
Alex

We got a new one

Hello @userfuzzy.de,

Welcome to the Convai Developer Forum!

We’re sorry you’re running into this issue. In order to help us investigate further, could you please try reproducing the issue and share your browser console logs with us? You can send them here or via private message if you’d prefer.

Here’s how to save your browser console logs:

  1. Open the browser console:
  • Chrome / Edge: Ctrl + Shift + J (Windows) or Cmd + Option + J (Mac)
  • Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + K (Windows) or Cmd + Option + K (Mac)
  • Safari: Cmd + Option + C (Mac) (Enable Develop menu in Safari Preferences if needed)
  1. Reproduce the issue while the console is open.
  2. Right-click inside the console and choose “Save as…” or “Save Log” (depending on your browser) to export the logs as a .log or .txt file.
  3. Upload and share the log file here or via DM.

For the after some minutes part we have found

Level: Log
Msg: You have been disconnected due to inactivity
Caller:
    at d.GetStackTrace (https://<redacted>/stream/index.js:2:325890)
    at https://<redacted>/stream/index.js:2:353910

So this really seems to be a timeout, the other one is harder to reproduce as it is not happening that often as shown in the video. Is there a setting to influence the timeout? On a fair it is quiet normal to have some idle time between interactions.

You’re correct. One of the messages appears to be related to the AFK timeout, which you can adjust from the Experience Settings in Avatar Studio. This timeout triggers when there’s an extended period of inactivity.

The other message you’re encountering likely relates to concurrency limits. If the number of simultaneous users exceeds your plan’s concurrency quota, you may see that session termination behavior.

If you suspect either of these is misbehaving or not functioning as expected, please let us know. Also, to help us investigate properly, kindly share all console logs (not just one) so we can get the full picture and assist you better.

Do I prosume correctly that the button is somewhere in convai?
At what tier is the button awailable?
I can not find the AFK Time Out.

Thank you for your answer so far.

I changed the timeout, thanks lets see if this makes the experience on the fair better. Any suggestions if the interface hangs on the loading screen, this happend yesterday and the day before for more than 30 minutes with no refresh or reloading the page bringen us further. I expect this was due to resource problems? The other thing that we sometimes notice especially after a new login is that the character does not get voice input. The push to talk is detected but it looks like the speech to text is not working.

I have set the timeout to unlimited (and saved) and just got disconnected with the same log message in the console and the display from the first video I posted. It almost looks as the setting has no effect on the pixel stream termination.

Thank you for the details. We will get back to you.

Are there any news about this issue?

No, I will inform you when there is an update.

OK. Thank you

Hey we have been trying to reproduce the issue but were not able to. Can you share some code reference on how you implemented it.

We generated the log via your own playground so there was no code of ours involved.
If need be we are open to show you this live after ester?

Yeah lets connect after ester if possible.

Than please contact as via mail and we will setup something. I prosume you have access to users mails .
