UE 5.6 Metahuman Body Animations

Hi I saw the other posts on this but downloading the current files from GitHub and putting in the project plugins folder did not fix the issue. I also uninstalled the Fab version to be safe, but no luck.

The body is getting compressed when I apply the Convai Body Animation Blueprint. It’s not a major disfiguration, but it’s enough to be unusable. It clearly isn’t retargeting the way it’s supposed to so I get a squashed torso and arms clipping through the body. The Face animation and tracking are fine, it’s just the body.

Any steps I can take to resolve? Thanks as always

Could you please share a video or screenshot showing the issue?

The first 2 are expected results. Strong and musclar superhero.

The enxt 2 you can see he looks potbellied from the front and not sure if you can tell but has been made a good deal shorter.

Please try the following steps:

  • Make sure the Retarget Source Asset in all animations is set to your Skeletal Mesh.
  • If you still see distortions in some animations, try switching the Retarget Source Asset to another suitable Skeletal Mesh to correct the issue.
