What does the Dynamic Move Target Indicator Do?

Should i just use objects and say “Move to” to navigate my NPC around the environment to certain locations. What does the dynamic move target indicator actually do?

If you aim to a point in the scene and say Move There or here, the NPC will move there. Or if you look at an object that is in the object list and ask what it is, the NPC will tell you.
