The issue is expected. It is happening because your narrative graph node has empty speak tags “ ”. This is causing our backend to return empty response.

Thanks so much for the reply. The approach was working for me but appears to not work any more for both the original and cloned NPCs.
And when @K3 tested it (above) it was working then. I wonder what happened?
Essentially, I don’t want the NPC to respond when entering the narrative design section, but rather just wait for the next decision.
